Now that You Have the Inspection Scheduled...

Payment: accepted at time of service, personal check preferred though if this isn’t feasible Visa and MC are accepted.

Attending your inspection: by all means clients should attend their inspection, unless out of town on business or buying a second home in Chicago. In most cases the client should attend the entire inspection, however for very large homes an “executive summary” attendance option is often the best.

A knowledgeable family member or contractor/handy-person friend is often a great help for the client to understand the inspection findings, especially when the property is older and the client is inexperienced.

However it’s counterproductive to have too many people, especially energetic little people, attend the inspection. And if you’re going to have a decorator or contractor provide estimates at the inspection time, perhaps one client can be with the estimator and one client can be with the inspector.
